Brayv passed away right before his 2nd birthday, due to a drowning accident in a backyard pool. The tragedy deeply impacted Brayv’s family and motivated his eldest sister, Candace, to found Swim Brayv Foundation with her family's support.
The mission ... to raise awareness about the issue of drowning through water & swim safety outreach. With the hope that no other family will have to lose a loved one to a drowning or other water related accidents. The foundation’s ultimate goal is to help reduce the frightful drowning statistics across all communities globally.
The Swim Brayv Foundation outreach program edu-tains humans via engaging conversation with our merfolk mascots, interactive game and prizes, taking the Swim B.R.A.Y.V. pledge and more . We have pods in multiple states and are growing - outreaching at schools, pools, beaches and more. In our first 10 years of operating our community outreach program, Swim Brayv has directly engaged and eduacted more than 35,000 humans (both adults and children) on proactive water and swim safety tips, skills & the Swim B.R.A.Y.V Pledge.
The pod has also collaborated with select partners to raise funds for swim safety clinics and swim lesson scholarships, for families in need. To date Swim Brayv has been able to help raise over $25,000 for our learn to swim FUNdrasier efforts.
